Role:

My client is seeking a National Controls Specialist to champion their growing lighting
controls proposition across the UK. This is a specialist role working in partnership with the
national specification sales team to ensure the full controls offering is considered and
specified within all project opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the national expert for my client’s lighting controls portfolio, supporting Area Specification Managers across the UK.

Work closely with Specifiers, Consultants, Contractors, Local Authorities, and End Users to deliver full system sales.

Provide technical expertise to ensure control solutions are fully understood and
integrated within wider lighting designs.

Deliver CPDs and product presentations to influence key decision-makers.

Offer full project support including technical input, product selection, and aftersales
service.

Collaborate with internal departments including design, technical, and product
development teams.

Drive the control systems element of the project pipeline, contributing to my client’s
growth.

Play a key role in shaping the controls strategy as part of the company’s long-term
commercial development.

Progress into a National Sales Manager role with future team leadership
responsibilities.

Location

This is a remote, field-based role covering the UK. Ideal base: anywhere with good access to major road networks.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
Strong technical knowledge of lighting control systems.

Experience working with Consultants, Specifiers, Contractors, or Local Authorities
on complex project solutions.

A proven track record in technical support or sales within lighting, M&E, or building
controls.

Confidence in delivering CPDs, influencing specifications, and managing full project
lifecycles.

A proactive, consultative, and commercially minded approach.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and
external stakeholders.

This role would suit an experienced controls specialist or a technical sales professional
looking to step into a national role with clear leadership potential.
